YOGA THERAPY FOR RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS

Rheumatoid Arthritis is a degenerative Autoimmune Disease that is on the rise worldwide, mainly among women. The symptoms include inflammation of the joints that gradually become mis-shapen, weight-loss, muscle atrophy, and pain. Yoga Therapy can help support individuals living with Rheumatoid Arthritis, and in this course I am honored to share with you my experiences with my clients, and the lessons I learned from them. I hope these will help you work with your own clients with RA in a safe, effective and compassionate manner.

YOGA THERAPY FOR RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS
  • INTRODUCTION

The information I share with you here is based not only on the knowledge of this autoimmune disease, but my clients's experiences and the challenges they shared with me during our Yoga Therapy sessions.

  • STANDING & CHAIR PRACTICES

In this video you will learn some safe supported standing and chair practices that can help your clients gain balance and stabilty.

  • ON-THE-GROUND PRACTICES

If your students can sit and lie down on the ground, these are great exercises that you can introduce before the breathing and relaxation practices!

  • RECOMMENDED BREATHING PRACTICES

People with Rheumatoid Arthritis tend to have very tight primary breathing muscles due to pain, and, in some cases, mishaping of the spine. These practices can be done lying down or sitting on a chair, to help release tightness, and the stiffness that may cause dysfunctional breathing.
